What seemed an innocuous insect bite to begin with resulted in surgery, and a huge hole in my leg from a spider bite in the UK, December 2015. I had the bite for 1 week before getting it checked out - I just assumed it would heal itself and subside just as any other insect bite would... How wrong was I...!
